Abstract: Systems & Processes Engineering Corporation (SPEC) proposes an Advanced Unattended Ground Sensor which consists of a suite of ultra low power draw sensors and computer coupled with a frequency hopping transmitter receiver, to form a robust network of sensors using a variable information bridge to shuttle data to the control center. The small, low cost, units consist of two single ended LADAR style "trip wires", with aligned low light CMOS imagers and IR illumination sources. The single ended 30Hz "trip wires" are sized for 1km range and SWIR band for no NVG detection. The LADAR receivers have a 4x1 pixel array, allowing capture of the objects speed, as well as range and preliminary discrimination of falling leaves, blowing weeds etc. These LADAR are coupled with an aligned CMOS imaging cameras, which take an image of the trip wire scene when a trip event is declared. The image is then difference processed from a previously stored image, and the information combined with the exact trip range from the LADAR trip wire to obtain the object size and spatial characteristics. If the object meets preset threat characteristics, those of a vehicle, person or motorcycle, then detection will be declared.
